I'm Back!

So, I have a computer again so I can update my blog again.

Isn't that awesome?  :3

D: Accountablility Failure

I haven't updated in a few days.  My computer died so I've been busy trying to make the old computer with the corrupt Windows work long enough to write a blog post.  It's a little hard fixing that one because it has no cd or dvd drive, it doesn't last long enough without resetting to install windows on it, the keyboard socket is burnt out on it so safe mode doesn't work, and it can't have a video card in it because, haha, that's burnt out too.

The new computer requires a 50 dollar power supply, which is going to have to wait until Christmas.  So that's only 2 months with a computer that resets every five minutes.  Good thing I knit!

Instead of working on the knitpicks socks, I've been side-tracked.  The man wanted a scarf for his birthday, so I started that on the 25th and finished it by the 28th of October.  On the 29th, I started another pair of socks in Supersocke 100 in the green colorway and finished them on November 1st.  Today I've started the toe for some more socks in TOFUties.

I'm not sure if I'm going to go back to the knit-picks socks when I'm finished with the TOFUties.  I've been knitting socks for a long time now and I'm getting a little burnt out on socks.  That's four socks in a row.  :d  I'll think about it.  I probably will because the knitpick socks have taken up space by my computer and I don't really have room to put them elsewhere in the stash.

On the positive side, I've gone through 600g of yarn without buying any new yarn.  My stash is having negative growth.  That's awesome!  It's also winter time, so it's kind of expected that my stash would have some negative growth because I'm not garage sailing so I'm not adding to it.  Awesome~~~  Let's hope I get it knit down from 7 milk crates to 2 milk crates.  Granted, I've been using the natural fibers first, but my acrylic stash is the same size as my natural fiber stash.  I guess my next project should be using some of my acrylics.

I'm seriously considering doing the traveling woman as my next project when I get done with my sock kick.

Making a scarf for the man.  It is 200g of pure alpaca.  Mmm, alpaca goodness.

Finished the feather and fan socks and am taking a break because 3 lace patterns in a row has burned out my brain so this scarf is a welcome break.

On the heel turn of the second sock.  Sick.  Going to wait until tomorrow to do it.  However, both socks will officially be done tomorrow and I can start on Peony.  It'll be awesome.

I also updated my projects page on ravelry.  You can now see what I did all year this year!

Speed Knitting

I have one sock of the Peapod done.  It is a very fun pattern, and if it wasn't for the fact that I'm waiting to see how much yarn I'll have left over to make cuffs, I'd be wearing the first sock.  This is such a great pattern and really makes me love knitting socks.  The catnip socks made me wonder if sock knitting is for me, but this has really proven that I love knitted socks.

I made a mistake on the first sock.  It fits my left foot perfectly, but not my right foot by a half inch, so I need to make sure my other sock is a half inch bigger.  Granted, I love tight socks, so tightness isn't an issue for me.  Tight socks mean I don't worry if they're going to fall down on me.

I am thinking about making a side trip into poncho land to knit myself a poncho.  We'll see how I feel after this box of socks is done and I don't feel so sick.  Yes, I have this weird thing that while I'm sick I really want a poncho, but when I get well I forget about the poncho urge.  I bet a poncho would be so warm right about now and I wouldn't have to drag a blanket behind me.

Although in all honesty I have asked for a snuggie for the past couple years and no one thinks I'm serious about it.  *shakes fist*  Yes, I could wear a robe backwards, but I don't have a breathable robe.  The robe I do have is made out of polymadine and is so not breathable.  :(  I shouldn't be sweating in a robe.

Box of socks first, poncho later.  I'll look around at patterns and see which one calls to me.

Catnip Socks, more like Catnap Socks

They are completed!  They would have been done even sooner, however, the yarn decided at the bind off to be a complete pain and started knotting up on me.  However, I now have a finished pair of socks.

My next project is probably going to be casting on for the Peapod socks tonight and then Peony would be next.  For the moment, I will enjoy my new socks and start writing out the chart for Peapod and Peony because I'm not too good at reading charts yet.  Work in progress.

Weekends are for relaxing

I've decided my yarn stash is big enough that learning to spin wouldn't be very productive to getting my stash under control.  It is currently six milk crates full, and I really should get it under control.

So far I  have done no knitting today.  I spent today with the man and played Desktop Dungeons.  I'll make an attempt before I go to bed.
